Step 1: Initial Ballpark Quote

The first step in getting your solar system installed is to receive an initial ballpark quote. All you need to do is provide some basic information about your property, such as your Eircode, and we’ll provide an estimate of the solar power available for your house. This includes the grant values, costs, electricity forecasts, and payback period. This initial quote is free and helps you get an idea of what to expect in terms of costs and benefits.

Step 2: Surveying of the Site

If you’re happy with the initial quote, we’ll send an engineer to your property to conduct a site survey. The engineer will guide you through the process and explain everything in detail. They’ll inspect your property, including the rooftops, electrics, and shading, to ensure that we can design the right system for your needs. This step is important because it ensures that we can design the most efficient solar system for your property.

Step 3: Proposal of Design and Final Quote

After the site survey, we’ll provide you with a system design and a final quote. This design will take into account the information gathered during the site survey and will be tailored to your property’s specific needs. Your solar engineer will follow up with you to answer any questions that you have free of charge.

Step 4: Application of ESB Networks Application

The next step in the process is to apply to the ESB Networks to let them know that you’re installing a solar system. We’ll take care of this step for you, and it usually takes around 20 days for the application to be approved. This step is necessary because it ensures that the solar system is safely integrated into the electrical grid.

Step 5: Application for SEAI Grant (Optional)

As an SEAI-approved PV installation company, most houses are eligible for a grant to cover the installation costs. If required, the next step would be to apply for the grant because it needs to be approved before any work can take place. The process is quite straightforward, and we can guide you through the process. The grant can help offset the cost of the solar system, making it more affordable for homeowners.

Step 6: Paying the Deposit and Planning for Installation

Once you’ve received the final quote and you’re ready to move forward, you’ll need to provide a deposit of 30 percent to start the installation process. This deposit is required to secure the installation team and equipment. During this step, we’ll also plan for the installation process, including scheduling a date for the installation.

Step 7: Installation

The installation process typically takes around 2 days to complete. Our installation team will visit your property and install the solar system PV on your roof. After, our electricians will install the electrical equipment inside your home and connect them together. This step is critical because it ensures that the solar system is installed safely and correctly.

Step 8: Commissioning and Balance Payments

After the installation is complete, we’ll need to commission the system to ensure that it’s working correctly. This involves turning on your solar system and performing necessary tests. If it’s too close to sunset on the day of installation, our team will pop back in the next day to commission the system, and the balance would be due. This step is important because it ensures that the solar system is generating electricity efficiently.

Step 9: Enjoy Your Free Electricity & Receive Your Grant

Once your solar system is up and running, you can start enjoying free and clean electricity. Our team will be in touch to check in about the performance of the solar system and to review
